About the vessels
The Danish ship owner ESVAGT has decided to equip their two new state-of-the-art offshore windfarm service vessels with the most compact and energy-efficient NOx reduction systems available. The tailor-made Service Operations Vessels (SOV) - 'ESVAGT FROUDE' and 'ESVAGT FARADAY' are each equipped with 4x Caterpillar 3516C engines, which will be fitted with BLUNOX solutions prepared for IMO Tier 3 compliance. The two newbuildings from the Norwegian shipyard Havyard Ship Technology, are designed specifically to service offshore windfarms far from land.

Apart from the preparation for NOx reduction systems, both vessels are fitted out wit a number of facilities for the installing, operation and maintenance of almost all types of installations offshore. The vessel offers 60 single cabins for 40 technicians and 20 crew all being able to enjoy the latest technology in all areas. One of the most advanced features is a gyro-stabilized gangway straight from the vessel to the wind turbines which is swung to the platform from the vessel - even when waves are up to 2½ meters high. Furthermore, the conditions for the crew and the windfarm technicians leave nothing to be desired - fitness, cinema, messing, meeting rooms, etc.
