About the rig

The Mærsk Innovator is one of two identical ultra harsh environment jack-ups in Maersk Drilling's fleet. These rigs are the largest and most advanced jack-up rigs in the world. With a leg length of 205.3 m (673 ft) the rig is designed for year-round operation in the North Sea, in water depths up to 150 m (492 ft).

Authorities and compliance

The systems were successfully installed and commissioned in late autumn 2013, with a NOx reduction measured by the Norwegian authorities at an impressive 97%.

The BLUNOX delivery was fully ‘turn-key’ and especially designed for the tough offshore environment of the North Sea and in compliance with NORSOK standards.

The installation was supported by the Norwegian Business Sector’s NOx Fund whose main task is to finance specific NOx-reducing initiatives with focus on long lasting measures.
